The "ID Exchange" page is your private logbook for peer-to-peer identification. Every session listed here has either been initiated by you or shared with you. These are private and only visible to you and the other person involved.

How do I start sharing my ID with someone?
From the home screen, tap the ID Exchange button to create a new session. You will choose what data you want to share and set how long it should be available (e.g., one day, one week, etc.).
How do I share the ID Exchange session with someone?
After creating an ID Exchange session, you can share it using one of the following methods: • 6-digit session code – Use this when you're on a phone or voice call. Just read the code aloud. • QR code – Best for in-person sharing. Ask the other person to scan the code directly from your screen. • Shareable link – Great for messaging apps, emails, or social media. Just copy and send the link.
How do I create an account?
You can register by scanning a valid ID (passport, driver's license, etc.). In Sweden, you can also use BankID. Your verification level (Bronze, Silver, or Gold) will be based on the method you choose.
What do the status labels mean?
• Pending – The session has been created and is waiting for the other party to verify it. • Verified – The verification has been successfully completed by both parties. • Expired – The session is no longer valid due to time limits.
Can I choose what information I share?
Yes, you're always in control. You can select which details to include, such as name, personal number, address, or social links.
Can I set a time limit for the ID Exchange?
Absolutely. You can choose how long your information stays available — from 1 day to 1 month.
Why can't I see the other person's information right away?
Both of you need to verify your identities and agree to the data exchange. This ensures privacy and mutual consent.
Who else can see the ID Exchange session?
No one but you and the other person involved. These sessions are fully private and securely stored.
How long are ID Exchange sessions kept?
Each private session is securely stored for 1 year, unless you choose to delete it earlier.
Common questions about IDfier, identity verification, and data protection.
IDfier is an identity verification app made by SoLiDware AB in Sweden. You verify your government ID once, then confirm each other's identity with the people you meet, buy from or work with, sharing only the details you choose. Businesses use the same verified identities for age verification, Login with IDfier and IDfier Sign.
You verify yourself once in the app: scan a government ID such as a passport, national ID card or driver's license and pass a face liveness check, add a read of the ID's NFC chip for the highest level, or use Swedish BankID. Your verification level (Bronze, Silver or Gold) shows which method was used. To verify someone, start an ID Exchange, choose what to share and send it as a 6-digit code, QR code or link. Nothing is revealed until both of you approve.
Fake profiles, stolen photos and deepfakes make it easy to pretend to be someone else online. Confirming that the other person is real, and who they say they are, before you meet, pay or sign anything helps prevent scams and fraud, for private people and businesses alike.
Yes. IDfier complies with the GDPR. Your personal data is stored in data centers in Sweden and encrypted in transit and at rest, and you choose what is shared in every ID Exchange or business request. You can delete your account from the app's settings.
Most identity verification is one-way: a company checks you. IDfier is mutual, so private people can verify each other before a date, a marketplace deal or a rental, with both sides approving what is shared. The same verified identity also works with businesses, which receive only the details they ask for, for example a yes or no for an age check instead of your ID.
